About Jim

I grew up in Denver, proudly graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder and spent many hours visiting with my family at their home’s on Flying Fish and Flying Cloud Isle in FC so I got to know it pretty well. I met my lovely bride Lesley in 1989 and we moved to the Bay Area where I became a Realtor and worked for the Re/Max office that used to be at the location the Inktomi Mausoleum now sits on…Hillsdale between Shell and Foster City Blvd.

When our building was torn down I moved to Re/Max Today in San Carlos where I still am today. My office is the most productive office in San Mateo county and I’m proud to say that I’m associated with it! In 2006 I was 4th out of 67 agents there and have been in the top 1% of Real Estate agents in the US for years now.

I know what I’m doing and my experience can be very helpful to you if you’re either buying or selling, so please don’t ever hesitate to contact me…even if you just want to pick my brain a bit!Lesley and I have been happily (really!) married for 19 years and have 2 beautiful little girls, Christina and Elena. We’ve been attending Central Peninsula Church over on Shell since 1991. My life’s sort of an open book so please let me know if you ever have any questions…or you would like to talk Colorado football! Go Buffs!

Foster City 2008 Condo/Townhouse Statistics
Since I’m yaking about Foster City statistics it’s probably not a bad idea to add to the discussion with what happened with condo/townhouses in 2008. This category has taken a bigger hit than single family homes but it’s still significantly better than the media’s representation of the marketplace. Just like yesterday’s post, all the actual [...]

Foster City 2008 Statistics
The year end numbers are in…and they actually turned out pretty well! Once again the numbers reflect a healthy environment in Foster City and they certainly run contrary to the perception portrayed in the media when it comes to home value analysis. I have to admit that I’ve gone over these time and again because [...]

The Myth of Sisyphus
You’ve probably heard this saga from Greek mythology before. Sisyphus was a King who was punished by the Gods by being made to roll a large boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll down again and having to repeat this throughout eternity. At the end of every year it always seems to me [...]

And The Winner Is…
I have to say, no matter how you look at it, we had one heck of a contest! I’m not all that sophisticated when it comes to all this technology and how to use and abuse it, but I understand Larissa’s comment last night because it sure did seem like a whole lot of votes, [...]

A Little Bit of Stockton in Foster City
First of all…you can still vote until tonight at midnight. Just scroll down a little and you’ll find the voting booth, so to speak. Blog reader Jerry Freeman alerted me to this house that came up at 214 Turnstone and I think it’s worth mentioning. It’s also worth mentioning that I truly don’t know all of [...]

Any and all comments made here, or on [...]

Let There Be Light(s) 7
Last, but certainly not least, is the final entry in the 2008 Lights contest! It’s a really good one too! This house is located at 515 Pitcairn and is the product of the Wenzel family. It’s another classic of the form and has been among other showplace houses in the Bay Area in the past on [...]

It’s a Wonderful (Subprime) Life
I’ve always been crazy about the classic 1946 Jimmy Stewart film “It’s a Wonderful Life”. I’m sure the vast majority of you know this flick…it’s on frequently at this time of year. In a nutshell, it’s the story of how an angel helps a compassionate but despairingly frustrated George Bailey (Stewart) by showing what life would had [...]

Let There Be Light(s) 6
OK, we’re in the home stretch! Voting is coming on Friday…so get ready to rumble! Today’s entry is located at 503 Drake Ct and is the product of the Brannon family. The Brannon’s have a front yard made up pretty much entirely of small white stones…so it appears to be snow all the lights and decorations [...]

Pompano Park
It’s just a little park, but because we’ve got some good friends that live on this street and we’ve spent plenty of time over the years either picnicing or playing games here, I thought it was worth including. This park is only 0.56 acres and is located in the middle of the big circle that [...]
